Carley Steiner & Chelsea Steiner – 2015 Feature Writer Access Project Honorees

Carley Steiner [left] was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. She received a B.A. in film studies from Columbia University and an M.F.A in screenwriting from USC School of Cinema. Since film school, she has written feature and TV projects for the Disney Channel, Nick Jr., Walden Media, Oops Donuts, NBC Universal, Lifetime, Big Block, and Original Films. She just completed a new TV drama pilot based on the real life war between competing chocolate companies Hershey and Mars, adapted from the national bestseller, The Emperors of Chocolate.

In addition to writing new material for film and television, Carley is a professor at CSUN and GCC, teaching film theory and graduate level screenwriting. She lives, writes, and bakes impossibly complicated cakes in Los Angeles.

Chelsea Steiner [right] hails from New Orleans, which explains her affinity for cheesy grits and Britney Spears. She received a B.A. in Communication from Stanford University. Chelsea has written feature and TV projects for the Disney Channel, Nick Jr., Walden Media, Oops Donuts, NBC Universal, Lifetime, Big Block, and Original Films. In addition to writing new material for film and television, she has written for AfterEllen, Autostraddle and Jezebel. A student of the Upright Citizens Brigade, she has performed at UCBTLA, Second City, and iO West. She loves the word "Jewess" and wishes more people used it to describe her.
